Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related curriculum required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job. 18 months of related Engineering experience. Experience credit will be considered for related advanced degrees limited to 2 years for the Master's and 4 years for a PhD in the field applicable to the job position.
Position Purpose:
Performs engineering work related to the investigation and the solution of technical problems associated with the research, design, development, service, and manufacture of Gulfstream aircraft. Become a key member of the software team responsible for the Cabin Management System and related components within the cabin of advanced aircraft.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Solves typical engineering problems within assigned discipline
- Provides technical assistance to engineering staff and contributes to the completion of project milestones
- Responsible for a complex engineering assignment, or a full project of lesser complexity
- Follows established schedules while developing plans for engineering assignments
- Obtains appropriate level of supervisor approvals for work accuracy and adequacy
- Proficiently applies company/organization policies and procedures.
- Designs, develops, tests, and integrates software modules of varying scope and complexity to meet program objectives
- Works within a team environment, promoting cohesiveness and continuous improvement
- Maintains and troubleshoots multiple software projects designed for various platforms, with a primary focus on Java platforms & products
- Interfaces with other groups and customers as needed during design/development and troubleshooting
- Maintains a current knowledge of developments, both process and technical, related to software development in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness, as well as to offer creative and informed opinions in the course of troubleshooting and debugging.
- Participates as needed in any or all of the software design phases, including requirements generation, software design, code implementation, validation, and documentation of the results

- Actively works to improve daily processes, and ensures all work meets customer requirements
- Maintains a current and up-to-date knowledge of developments and application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in assigned field of expertise

- Contacts are primarily within the organization, with occasional customer contacts on routine issues.
- Works under general supervision for routine tasks of minor complexity.
- With supervision/mentorship, can coordinate the activities for lower-level engineering staff.
- Self-motivated and able to work under limited supervision when required
- Proficiency in developing/maintaining applications written in one or more of the following languages: Java, C, C#, Objective C, Swift
- Proficiency in embedded systems, using touchscreen technology (iOS & Android)
- Experience using revision control, git preferred
- Experience using Azure DevOps preferred
- Ability to follow a software development process, such as Agile
- Experience with one or more of the following is a plus: UI/UX design/development, Design Patterns, Spring
- Network engineering skills are a plus
