Role Overview: As a Software/Hardware Quality Assurance Specialist, you will monitor all phases of the software development lifecycle to ensure that the systems and software adhere to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with critical standards such as RTCA DO-178C, RTCA DO-254, SAE ARP-4754, and military specifications. Your role will directly impact the quality and performance of the software used in airborne systems, ensuring both safety and regulatory compliance.
What You’ll Do:
Oversee the software development lifecycle, ensuring compliance with DO-178C and military standards.
Monitor and review all phases of software development, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and verification.
Participate in audits, reviews, and technical assessments to ensure software quality meets regulatory and development standards.
Work with systems, software, and test engineers to review and approve requirements, design, and test documentation.
Interface with stakeholders across different disciplines to address technical issues related to software quality.
Contribute to the software change control process and help manage program risks and milestones.
Review schematic drawings and specifications to support the development and review of systems and software processes.
Develop your knowledge base through continuous learning, research, and hands-on experience.
What You Bring:
Required:
At least 2+ years of experience in software quality assurance within the aerospace/defense industry, with knowledge of standards like RTCA DO-178C, RTCA DO-254, SAE ARP-4754, AC 20-115D, MIL-STD-498, and DI-MISC-80508B.
Experience with software development methodologies including requirements management, design, coding, and testing.
Proficiency in software quality assurance techniques and testing tools (static analysis, code coverage, test case management).
Strong communication and documentation skills to clearly articulate technical issues.
Ability to work effectively with a team and across different engineering disciplines.
A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Preferred:
Experience in embedded software/hardware verification.
Basic understanding of audit techniques and software testing methods.
Experience with software change control processes and risk management.
Familiarity with C/C++ and Python programming languages.

Pay Details: $60.00 to $90.00 per hour
