Description:Function
Perform a wide variety of duties including deburring, chamfering, stress relief, brushing, super finishing, lapping, filing, etc. and other assigned bench duties related to new or complex machine assignments.
Typical Responsibilities
Follow general instructions, operation sheets, parts drawings and other oral and written instructions, use judgment to plan, set up and operate various deburring, chamfering, polishing, brushing, etc., machines on a variety of gears or machined parts.
Use variable measuring instruments, as required to maintain proper angle, depth, width, radius and size, etc. to place chamfers on rough, finished, carburized and hardened parts.
Operate gear brush machines, chamfering, super finish machines, robot or any other type of finishing equipment.
Check work and make adjustments as necessary.
Make simple arbor or holding devices to facilitate any finishing, deburring or chamfering operations etc.
Perform stress relief operations on gears and other parts as assigned, maintaining prescribed oven temperatures according to specifications.
Perform other related work of a comparable or lower skill level, including Bench Hand Polisher when required.
Log and chart all stress relief operations.
Identify parts using a stamp, electro etch, vibrapeen, Telesis, etc., in locations specified by drawings or verbal instructions.
Record all identification processes.
Refer questionable conditions or recurring difficulties to working leader or supervision.
Perform operator checklist as required and comply with all EH&S procedures.
As required segregate waste material and follow good housekeeping practices.
May be assigned to carry out tasks, not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individuals’ skills.

Basic Qualifications:
Requires the ability to work from operation sheets, drawings and specifications and the use of a variety of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, vernier scales, depth gages, gage blocks, etc.
Also requires a well-rounded knowledge of machine finishing, burring and clamping operations, including stress relief and identification processes.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: Standard Monday to Friday 40 hour work week
