Continuous Improvement Engineer manages complex projects or processes with general oversight. This person will work on the shop floor with front line staff to design and improve existing processes to help meet customer demands. Evaluates all site continuous improvement plans, optimizing performance, cost, waste, etc. to improve processes in alignment with business objectives. Communicates within and outside of own function to gain cooperation on operational processes, practices, and procedures. Driving improvements to systems and processes across the site to help the achievement of departmental goals and operating plans with direct impact on business results.

- Ability to manage large projects or processes that span across multiple functions, stakeholders, or departments.
- Act as a consultant by providing guidance or training to other employees
- Communicates within and outside of own function or business, pulling teams together to collaborate and align on proposed solutions
- Explains, interprets, and gains cooperation on policies, procedures and practices.
- Work consists of making moderate to substantial improvement or enhancements to systems and processes to improve performance of job area.
- Opportunities for problem solving and innovation are complex and may require comprehensive information gathering, analysis and investigation to understand the problem.
- Problems typically involve consideration of multiple issues, job areas or specialties.
- Problems are generally solved through creative solutions, drawing from prior experience and in-depth analysis of issues.
- Works to achieve operational targets with direct impact on the departmental results.
- Contributes to the development of goals for the department and planning efforts (budgets, operational plans, etc.).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior quality/continuous improvement experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior quality/continuous improvement experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior quality/continuous improvement experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Previous experience working in continuous improvement rolls across a production area is preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Previous experience with project management is desired.
- Experience in Lean/6Sigma/DMAIC methodologies is preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel, Power Point, and Visio.
- Experience in briefing executives and customers.
