The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. This person will utilize his/her experience and expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to affect short-term and some long-term business goals. This person will contribute to the improvement of existing code and algorithms as well as implement new extensions and ideas and increase the applicability of the outcomes to client business solutions. Additionally, this person will:
- Provide leadership in defining and advancing state-of-the-art problem solving methodologies.
- Take accountability for the successful delivery of high value business solutions.
- Work effectively with multidisciplinary team members including other scientists, software engineers and business analysts, to design, develop and test mathematical models requiring specialized optimization skills and domain knowledge.
- Operate without boundaries to invent innovative approaches to understand, model, solve and validate client problems.
- Participate in several distinct initiatives simultaneously.
- Work in a highly collaborative and dynamic environment with both technical and business staff.
- Communicate activity status and results to management and clients.
- Support and resolve related client issues.
- Potentially mentor colleagues and manage team activities.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Candidates will have:
- Ph.D. in Operations Research or related discipline and demonstrated accomplishments in optimization-based applications or M.S. in Operations Research or related discipline and five years of documented experience in optimization-based applications.
- Strong C++ and Python programming skills to develop and test solution methodologies.
- Proficiency in solving optimization models with mathematical programming optimization tools such as CPLEX, DASH, etc.
- Experience conducting simulation analysis using mathematical models and interpreting results.

- Understanding of benchmarking and application of the scientific method to drive research activities.
- Extraordinary intellectual curiosity to understand the business domains underlying the client problems being addressed.
- Highly self-motivated with extreme attention to details.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
- PC proficiency
