HybridRadar Systems Field Engineering will be staffing a Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) AN/TPY-2 Power Technician to sustain and maintain the Prime Power Unit (PPU) in support of the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) KSA Production contract.
This role will require a US Expat to forward deploy to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) under the terms of a Long-Term International Assignment Memorandum of Understanding (LTMOU).
What You Will Do:
- Prior to deployment, the PPU Power Technician will be assigned to a THAAD Radar team at El Paso, TX and support Integration and Acceptance Testing, through completion at DD250 at WSMR, NM.
- The Power Technician will support all PPU maintenance efforts needed to complete a successful System Integration & Checkout (SICO) concluding with support of Radar shipment to KSA.
- Once deployed, the PPU Power Technician will support a Radar team consisting of three Field Engineers assigned to the radar system.
- The Power Technician will be expected to execute load-bank hook-up and operations and perform scheduled organizational level operations and maintenance.
- The Power Technician is expected to perform maintenance inspections and repairs, to include parts ordering in accordance with applicable technical manuals and procedures.
- The Power Technician must also complete records, maintain tools and equipment, and performs various clean-up and refurbishment activities.
- The Power Technician will provide support for configuration management of Prime Power Unit hardware and software; and will lead troubleshooting efforts as needed or directed by the CLS Manager; review all ALCS program data to ensure that all required data has been entered to include ITR’s, calibration records, PMCS, and contains sufficient information for Failure Review Board evaluations.
What You Will Learn:
- The selected candidate will develop an advanced knowledge and proficiency in AN/TPY-2 Prime Power Unit support, concepts of operation, maintenance, and procedure implementation.
- The selected candidate will develop a network and learn to establish sound communication with the Customer, the end user and the FSRs assigned to support the THAAD KSA mission.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- At least five years’ experience in the troubleshooting and operational checkout of Power generation systems; electro-mechanical troubleshooting, fault isolation, and repair of 15Kw, 30Kw, or 150Kw diesel powered power generation equipment including the safe work practices regarding operation and sustainment of electrical power generation equipment.
- Possess experience in the depot level sustainment and repair procedures of Power generation equipment (15K, 30k, and 150k diesel generators)
- Experience testing generators safely in diverse conditions. Must be familiar with medium voltage. (4160v).
- Experience reading and applying Technical Manuals and associated drawings, schematics, and publications. Must be able to create and/or follow test procedures to test functionality for the repair that was accomplished (in compliance with design specifications and standards).
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least five years’ experience in the troubleshooting and operational checkout of AN/TPY-2 systems.
- Experience in the planning, production, and management of complex systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements.
- Demonstrated excellence in past work performance.
- Must possess strong technical writing and oral communication skills.
- Must be able to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Logistics experience and ALCS knowledge.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
