Arconic is currently in search of a Takeoff Technician to join our Kawneer business in Springdale, AR. Under the general direction of the Takeoff Supervisor, the Takeoff Technician will be responsible for reviewing shop drawings and installation instructions; and then uses these inputs to create a materials list to ensure project parts are fabricated and shipped to complete customer orders. This role is a part of our Technical Services Team (drafting, engineering, and material take off).
Key Challenges / Responsibilities:
- Reading job shop drawings and installation instructions
- Verifying material requirements from customers
- Preparing documentation for manufacturing
- Verifying dimensions and angles required for product installations
- Releasing work to manufacturing in verified quantities
- Working with other teams to meet deadlines so jobs ship on time and in full (OTIF)
- Maintaining files and records, and ensuring accuracy on documentation submitted
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities to be Successful:
- Good communication skills
- Demonstrated computer skills and the ability to learn new software quickly (Word, Excel, AutoCAD)
- The ability to learn Kawneer products (curtainwall, store front entrances, etc)
- Good math skills
- Ability to read shop drawings and installation instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and meeting deadlines
Basic Qualifications
- HS diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution
- AutoCAD experience
- Ability to read shop drawings and understand installation instructions.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available at this time.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates degree from an accredited institution
- 2+ years of industry experience
