Technician

Contract Position
$26.68-$31.68/Hour

Responsibilities:
- Fabricate test equipment, including test sets, boxes, cables, and assemblies, used in the development and manufacturing of tactical hardware.
- Read, interpret, and occasionally correct engineering drawings and schematics.
- Solder components on circuit cards and subassemblies, as well as fabricate wiring harnesses with connector pinning and depinning.
- Assemble lower-level components into single or multi-bay cabinet assemblies for Engineering or Manufacturing Production areas.
- Collaborate with engineers, fabricators, draftsmen, procurement, and quality inspectors to ensure quality fabrication and timely completion.
- Use computer-based programs to update job status, track quality inspections, and manage engineering changes.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma required.
- Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in electrical fabrication (cable/harness, SMT boards, test equipment, etc.).
- 4-6 years of electrical troubleshooting, electrical testing, and mechanical/electrical systems knowledge.
- Strong knowledge of electro-mechanical assemblies, basic/complex mechanical and electrical concepts, and electrical standards.
- Ability to safety wire assemblies and connectors, and solder and repair cables and harnesses.
- Proficiency with oscilloscopes, multi-meters, network analyzers, and waveform generators for troubleshooting and testing.
- Ability to fabricate electrical test equipment using blueprints, schematics, and bills of materials.
- Familiarity with industrial standards, military specifications, and test/repair procedures.
- Ability to lift 35 pounds and work with hazardous materials.
- Desired Skills:
- Certification in soldering (e.g., J-STD-001, IPC-7711/IPC-7721).
- Experience with fault isolation of electro-mechanical components and CCA rework.
- Knowledge of hardware repair and BGA rework.
