Primary Function: Responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials, tools, equipment and products within the warehouse, Administration building, Steel and Aluminum plants.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Unloads trucks by using forklifts, hand trucks, hand lifts, and other methods; moves all materials.
- Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed via computer system.
- Verifies received goods are accurate with order placed.
- Sorts goods to determine final destination.
- Delivers goods to plants using forklifts, hand trucks, hand lifts, and other methods.
- Stocks shelves and otherwise stores merchandise or material in designated places in the warehouse.
- Packs or wraps merchandise for storage.
- Responsible for physical inventory counts.
- Ensures warehouse is accessible and safe for others in the area.
- Marks materials with identifying information using appropriate methods.
- Disposes of hazardous and controlled wastes appropriately.
- May be required to take hazardous waste training.

- Able to work in a production environment.
- Able to read and comprehend English.
- Able to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with tens and 100s.
- Able to lift and carry up to 100lbs. occasionally.
- Able to lift and carry up to 25lbs. continuously.
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently.
- Able to read, write and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Able to communicate effectively with co-workers and vendors.
- Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral
instructions. Able to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized
situations.
- Able to use Microsoft Office applications.
- Complies with company and departmental policies and procedures, including company’s attendance
policy.
Desired Competencies:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- 1 to 3 months of training or experience.
- OSHA forklift certification.
Normal Working Conditions
- Works under indirect supervision following established practices and clear-cut policies in the
performance of the majority of duties. Makes decisions when general instructions, established
methods, and clearly defined precedents indicate action to be taken, but refers unusual problems to
superiors.
- Occasional work required in areas with fumes and/or airborne particles.
- Frequent work required in areas with loud noise and wet or humid conditions-non-weather.
- Continuous work near moving mechanical parts required.
- Occasional reaching above shoulder level and working in high, precarious places required,
balancing, and climbing required.
- Occasional receiving and disposal of toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Environmental conditions encountered occasionally are working near or with hazardous waste.
- Frequent driving, reaching below shoulder level, talking and stooping or squatting required.
- Continuous standing, walking, using hands to handle or feel, hearing, pushing or pulling required.
