Position: Aircraft Painter - Greenville, SC

Weekend shift (Thursday - Sunday, 4/10s) ******Must be able to work 4x10D- Thursday-Sunday****
Details:
Coats surfaces of aircraft with paint, lacquer, epoxy, resin or other material, using brushes, rollers, spray guns and other devices, removes old paint from aircraft, using liquid paint remover and scraper. Smoothes surface with sandpaper and steel wool, roughens aluminum surfaces with acid solution and steel wool to insure that paint adheres to surface, masks and covers portions of surfaces not to be painted, and paint insignia, letters or numerals on aircraft surface, using stencils. Will be working RAM coating, and various other paint shop tasks!
Must be willing to work Plastic Media Blasting
Painting, paint prep activities, and all aspects of aircraft painting
Must be able to wear a respirator

Working RAM coating - Radar absorbing material (RAM) is a polymer-based coating thats applied to stealth military aircraft to make them harder to detect by radar. One type of RAM is iron ball paint, which is made of tiny iron spheres coated with carbonyl iron or magnetic ferrite and suspended in an epoxy resin. When electromagnetic radiation hits the painted surface, the iron ball paint interacts with the carbonyl iron or ferrite molecules, causing them to oscillate and absorb the radiation. This energy is then released as heat through the airframe. The iron ball paints microscopic iron spheres resonate with incoming radio waves, dissipating most of their energy as heat and leaving little to reflect back to detectors**
