Job Summary:
Operate all equipment in the coatings cell to apply coatings to turbine engine parts. This includes robots, feed systems, air & plasma spray guns, abrasive blast and cleaning equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain raw material supplies and spare parts for the system, prepare, mix, test and apply slurries and part preparation including cleaning, masking, abrasive blasting and plasma cleaning.
- Load coating systems with parts per documented configuration and perform regular maintenance on coating systems and monitor coating process while running including attending to alarms and diagnosing issues for resolution or escalation
- Provide support in the development and implementation of facility and equipment upgrades, support experimental designs, fabricate development tooling and fixtures to improve the process and program equipment including ABB robots to adjust settings for new processes
- Maintain all documentation (electronic and paper) required for the coating process and comply with AS9100 quality system including SOPs (standard operating procedures), internal requirements, manufacturers specifications and safety policies
- Use of MS Office
- Perform other duties as assigned
Basic qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
- Prior thermal spray coating experience
Preferred qualifications:
- AA/AS degree or other 2-year post high school training with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
- Manufacturing background
- Minimum experience of 4 years applying thermal spray coatings preferably with plasma spray
- Experience in development coating applications such as air spray, thermal spray, slurry, or vapor deposition and experience programming robots for complex geometries preferably with ABB
- Comfortable supporting both development and production coating applications
- Previous aerospace or chemical industry experience and experience working within a formal quality system like ISO 9001 or AS9100

The salary range for this role is $28.00 to $42.00 per hour; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
