Small Parts Paint Worker (Full Time)
Department: All Openings, Manufacturing - Entry Level
Small Parts Paint Worker compensation range(based on experience level)$17.50- $21/hr
Small Parts Paint Worker I($17.50/hr-$19/hr)
Hang parts and load baskets for cleaning operations.
Operate part washing equipment.
Process parts through chem film tank line.
Apply rust inhibitor to parts as specified.
Properly identify parts using blueprints.
Mask or plug areas on simple parts that are not to be coated as specified on blueprints.
Maintain the departments compliance with Piper QAM/QIM and FAA requirements.
Rework discrepancies as necessary.
Participate in continuous improvement efforts to improve the teams performance including schedule delivery, reduction of late work, elimination of quality defects & scrap, increasing productivity and generating cost reductions.
Partner with senior teammates within career path to receive and share practical knowledge for proper training to perform necessary job functions and requirements in order to attain satisfactory levels of performance and production effectivity.
Adhere and maintain all departmental compliance requirements such as Safety, Environmental Protection, FOD and Tool Control, 5S and other assigned programs.
Perform duties as assigned by supervision
Small Parts Paint Worker II($19/hr-$21/hr)
Mask or plug areas on intricate and complex parts that are not to be coated as specified on blueprints.
Process parts through clean line utilizing overhead crane.
Maintain wash and clean line tank chemistry under guidance from QA and engineering.
Operate ovens for curing of primed parts.
Assist painters with staging and prep of product and materials.
Inspect and buy off own work using Piper inspection certifications.
Assist with training and cross training of Team Members to attain acceptable levels of performance.
Participate in continuous improvement efforts to improve the teams performance including reduction of late work, elimination of quality defects & scrap, increasing productivity and generating cost reductions.
Ability to and willingness to receive and share practical knowledge, train, and mentor teammates within career path to perform necessary job functions and requirements in order to attain satisfactory levels of performance and production effectivity.
Adhere, maintain and assist teammates within career path to all departmental compliance requirements such as Safety, Environmental Protection, FOD and Tool Control, 5S and other assigned programs.
Perform duties of lower graded position within Career Path and other duties as assigned by supervision.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Related painter experience requirements:
o Small Parts Paint Worker I: 1 year of experience
o Small Parts Paint Worker II: 1 3 years of experience
Ability to work scheduled shift and hours, including overtime
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Use of hand and power tools as required
Follow all safety procedures
Ability to demonstrate sound judgement and effective communication skills (written and verbal).
Adhere to Piper Drawings, Process Specifications (PPS) and other manufacturing instructions
