Small Parts Painter (Full Time)
Department: All Openings, Manufacturing - Experienced
Small Parts Painter compensation range(based on experience level)$21- $27/hr
Small Parts Painter I($21/hr-$23/hr)
Prepares surfaces and uses spray gun or other methods to apply primer to small parts and assemblies on a routine or repetitive basis.
Paint small and flat parts that will fit on spray racks such as ribs, brackets, splices and angles.
Adjust and cleans spray guns and related equipment.
Mixes paint according to specifications.
Paint larger parts that need to be hung on T racks like ribs, frames, skins, straps, floor assemblies, channels and canted frames.
Conduct training cross training of Team Members to attain acceptable levels of performance.
Participate in continuous improvement efforts to improve the teams performance including schedule delivery, reduction of late work, elimination of quality defects & scrap, increasing productivity and generating cost reductions.
Partner with senior teammates within career path to receive and share practical knowledge for proper training to perform necessary job functions and requirements in order to attain satisfactory levels of performance and production effectivity.
Adhere and maintain all departmental compliance requirements such as Safety, Environmental Protection, FOD and Tool Control, 5S and other assigned programs.
Perform duties as assigned by supervision.
Small Parts Painter II($24/hr-$26/hr)
Paint color parts with cup gun such as doors, window panels and bulkheads.
Spray prime and paint color on flat parts without bends or angles and simple 3D parts.
Paint static line small steel parts, parts without tight bend radii or angles.
Paint bond primer parts according to process specification.
Paint epoxy primer on less complex parts such as door jams, cowls, fittings and Cherokee spars.
Assist in prep and painting on instrument panels.
Conduct training cross training of Team Members to attain acceptable levels of performance.
Participate in continuous improvement efforts to improve the teams performance including schedule delivery, reduction of late work, elimination of quality defects & scrap, increasing productivity and generating cost reductions.

Senior Small Parts Painter ($27/hr)
Paint complex and intricate assemblies and subassemblies requiring detail with minimal quality defects at a high productivity rate. These include all parts from all lower grade levels and all bond prime parts.
Paint on static line, epoxy primer and color on more complex parts such as all engine mounts, seats, landing gears, parts with bends and edges and hard to fill areas.
Paint parts including complex and cosmetic 3D printed parts, instrument panels, etc.
Interact with Team Members & Pipers Manufacturing support teams as well as vendors, equipment suppliers, etc. when appropriate.
Rework major discrepancies as necessary. Performs Material Review Board and Standard repairs when needed. Assist in troubleshooting parts issues with the department or on the assembly lines when needed.
Inspect and buying off own and other Team Members work using Piper inspection certifications.
Provide assistance when required during new product development, design, build and testing.
Acting as a technical liaison between Team Members & Pipers Manufacturing Support Teams as well as vendors, equipment suppliers, etc. when appropriate.
Assist with root cause and corrective action of nonconforming material in order to reduce defects and scrap material.
Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance the teams performance including reduction of late work, elimination of quality defects & scrap, productivity improvement initiatives and cost reductions.
Interface within the department to resolve quality concerns in a timely and cost-effective manner
Perform audits of areas within the department as required to maintain compliance with all FAA and Piper operational requirements. Initiate related operational process or procedural corrective action, or request additional assistance from leadership or other support teams where necessary.
Serves as lead with the ability to guide and willingness to receive and share practical knowledge, train, cross-train and mentor teammates within career path to perform necessary job functions and requirements in order to attain satisfactory levels of performance and production effectivity.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Related painter experience requirements:
o Small Parts Painter I: 1 - 3 years of experience
o Small Parts Painter II 3 - 5 years of experience
o Senior Small Parts Painter 5 - 7 years of experience
Ability to work scheduled shift and hours, including overtime
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Use of hand and power tools as required
Follow all safety procedures
Ability to demonstrate sound judgement and effective communication skills (written and verbal).
Adhere to Piper Drawings, Process Specifications (PPS) and other manufacturing instructions.
