Responsible for assisting in the operation of an aircraft for business and private flights. Working alongside the Chief Pilot, the Captain ensures flight safety, adherence to regulatory requirements, and a high standard of service. This role is essential in ensuring that all aspects of the flight are conducted in a safe, efficient, and professional manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Flight Operations Support:
- Assist the Chief Pilot in pre-flight planning, including reviewing weather conditions, flight routes, and aircraft performance.
- Ensure the aircraft is properly prepared for each flight, conducting thorough pre-flight checks and inspections.
- Operate the aircraft when required, under the supervision of the Chief Pilot or as part of team coordination.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all aviation regulations, including those set by the FAA (or respective regulatory bodies) and company policies.
- Maintain a high level of safety awareness, proactively identifying and mitigating risks during the flight.
- Ensure proper documentation and logs are maintained for each flight, including flight hours, maintenance records, and other compliance requirements.
Aircraft Maintenance Coordination:
- Report and document any malfunctions or maintenance issues that arise during flights to the Chief Pilot and Director of Maintenance.
- Participate in routine inspections and maintenance checks as required by company procedures.
Passenger Service:
- Ensure a high level of customer service for passengers, including providing assistance with onboard needs and ensuring comfort during the flight.
- Maintain professionalism when interacting with executives, staff, and other passengers.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other crew members (flight attendant, Director of Maintenance, ground staff, etc.) to ensure a smooth and efficient flight experience.
- Collaborate with the Chief Pilot on in-flight decision-making, following protocols for emergency situations or deviations from flight plans.
Post-Flight Duties:
- Assist with post-flight procedures, including debriefing, completing flight logs, and ensuring proper aircraft post-flight inspection is carried out.
Job Details:
- Part 91, Single Owner
- Approx 200 hours per year
- 2 - 3 trips to Europe per year
- Salary: $180,000
