Job Description:

Serve as Pilot-in-Command for New Era Cap's company aircraft by conducting flight operations under FAA Part 91 regulations.  Aircraft Captain will execute all flights, in-conjunction with other crew member(s), with the highest- degrees of safety and professionalism, as well as a superior level of passenger service.  

Responsibilities

  • Acts as final authority for the safe, legal and efficient operation of company aircraft per FAA Regulations, Manufacturers Guidelines and Limitations, New Era Domestic and International Flight Operations Manuals, SOPs and other directives and policies that may be implemented.
  • Communicate aircraft maintenance status, abnormalities and discrepancies to appropriate maintenance technician personnel and company leadership. Complete all necessary maintenance reporting paperwork, and assure aircraft readiness and compliance before and after each flight.
  • Provide a high-degree of care and support for all company personnel and guests to include; provision of ground transportation, catering, and any special requests for all flights. Insure passenger familiarity with aircraft safety rules & features and cabin equipment operation. Represent the company to guests in a professional manner. 
  • Complete and submit all required post-flight documentation including trip sheets, flight logs, maintenance-compliance documents, hazard reports and expense details.
  • Assist in aircraft stocking, cleaning and upkeep before, between and after all flight segments. Coordinates with Flight Dept. leadership for outside maintenance, appearance and detail services, when needed.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by Flight Department leadership or Vice President of Corporate Operations.
  • Keep all sensitive matters confidential.
  • Other duties as assigned.  
Job Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • A Safety-of-Flight-First mindset with strong flight deck management skills and CRM practices
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Demonstrate a high-degree of knowledgeability of FAA Regulations, Flight Operations Manual and other governing/advisory materials
  • Exhibit superior customer service skills, attention-to-detail and task completion/follow-through
  • Ability to regularly lift items weighing 50-60 pounds while conducting aircraft baggage loading
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm and a positive and cooperative attitude with fellow employees and passengers
  • Provides feedback to company leadership to improve operations and enhance safety
  • Proficient in ForeFlight, MS Word, MS Excel and Outlook.

Education,  Experience & Other Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree preferred; Relevant job experience in lieu of degree will be considered
  • Valid FAA Airline Transport Pilot Certificate (ATP)
  • Bombardier Global Vision/5500/6500 Type Rating Preferred
  • Current FAA 1st -Class Medical Certificate
  • 3,500 Hours Total Time in Fixed-Wing aircraft, 2,000 Hours Pilot-in-Command, 1,500 Hours turbine aircraft, at-least one turbojet type-rating with 1000 hours PIC in-type
  • Currently serving as PIC aboard multi-engine, multi-crew turbojet aircraft w/200hrs. PIC time logged in preceding 12 months (preferred).
  • Completion of a simulator and classroom Recurrent Training program at a recognized training facility (FlightSafety, Simuflite, CAE) within preceding 12 months.
  • International flight operations experience preferred
  • Must reside within 45 minute drive of Buffalo/Niagara International Airport (KBUF)
  • Must be able to work varying hours, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Must be extremely flexible schedule-wise and respond to short-notice changes
  • Must demonstrate exceptional degree of attention-to-detail in all aspects of position
  • Valid US Passport required for conduct of International Flight Operations
  • Must pass company, FAA and TSA background checks

Travel Requirement

  • Extensive - The New Era Cap flight department will be staffed and operated in a manner affording pilots a good work/life balance.
  • It is the goal of New Era Cap to have flight crew members actively-participate in scheduling operations, working as a team to provide for each individual pilot’s workload and non-work demands to be considered and incorporated into flight crew scheduling.   

The salary range for this posted position is $190,000 - $225,000 (plus bonus & benefits) and pertains to candidates located in Western New York. Actual compensation is determined by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, education, essential job duties and requirements, and necessary experience.
