POSITION SUMMARY
The PIC is responsible for the safe operation of company aircraft in support of a Helicopter Air Ambulance transporting medical crews and patients to assigned regional hospitals. Responsible for ensuring compliance with all company policies, General Operations Manual, Airman Information Manual, as well as Federal Aviation Regulations pertaining to part 135 Helicopter Air Ambulance Operations.
- Operate aircraft in compliance with all safety and legal requirements, performs duties as the individual ultimately responsible for the safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment.
- Completes all required pre-flight duties including verifying airworthiness, completing all pre-flight checks, daily logs, and sign offs.
- Maintains current and thorough knowledge of all aircraft and medical systems including backup aircraft and provides guidance to the medical flight team on the medical interior and systems.
- Completes all required documentation and conducts detailed flight planning to meet required standards.
