It is located at three site in southwest France: Bordes (head office, design office, new engine production), Tarnos (worldwide engine support) and Mantes-Buchelay (control unit and accessory production). Safran Helicopter Engines offers a comprehensive and efficient support network through 12 worldwide subsidiaries, providing local support and wide availability of maintenance, repair and overhauld (MRO) services.
A subsidiary, Safran Power Units, manufactures auxiliary power units (APU) and starting systems for civil and military aircraft, plus turbojet engines for missiles and target drones. Located in Toulouse, southern France, it is a world leader in its field, with over 21,000 systems delivered worldwide since its creation in 1961.
