Sr Aircraft Repair Engineer for After-Market Technical Services
Location: San Diego, CA
Duration: 12 months
JOB SUMMARY: Perform Damage Assessment and Prescribe Rework and Repairs to Aircraft Engine Nacelles
Qualifications: Must be able to perform each essential function and have education, skills & experience listed below.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Assess damage & defects to Turbofan Nacelle components & assemblies and prescribe Rework or Repair.
Education: MinimumGraduate of 2 year Associate Engineering degree in Mechanical or Aerospace or Civil or Structural technology.
Very Strong Preference: ABET approved Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical, aerospace, civil structural.
Minimum Aero-structures Experience: 12 yrs for Assoc. Eng. / 10 Yrs for B.Eng. / 8 yrs for M.Eng. / 5 Yrs for PhD Eng.
Highly Preferred but Not Mandatory Experience:
Experience in aircraft industry after-market services and repairs serving airline customers.Propulsion system related experience with nacelles, engine mounts, Inlets, Thrust Reversers, Exhausts, Fan Cowls.Experience writing dispositions for damage rework & repair: Hail, bird-strike, lightning, corrosion, cracks, dents, de-lams.Clear intuitive understanding of load path and design intent of structural parts and aircraft internal loads.
Personal and Interpersonal Skills
Strong interpersonal skills with willingness to ask questions & dig for answers. High degree of collaboration is expected.Demonstrated ability to multitask with strong task orientation and attention to critical details required under pressure.Ability to work independently, be insightful, resourceful & innovative and willing to do whatever work is assigned.Great verbal & written communication skills with strong command of English language and Simplified Technical English.
Preferred But Not Mandatory Software Skills: Basic CATIA V5, Team Center, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Access, MS Dynamics
